HR Business Partner

Pay: £22.40 per hour
Location: Exeter
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm

Temporary – 3 months contract

Our client operates a minimum of 40% office-based working, which may increase depending on business needs.

The Role

As an HR Business Partner, you will work closely with key business areas to support organisational performance through effective HR strategies. You’ll play a key role in ensuring the right people, skills, and structures are in place, while supporting change, engagement, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build strong relationships with business areas to understand their needs and challenges

  • Deliver HR strategies that drive performance and support organisational goals

  • Support recruitment, succession planning, and workforce development

  • Advise managers on employee relations issues including performance, absence, and conduct

  • Coach and support managers to handle complex HR matters

  • Lead on employee engagement initiatives and organisational change projects

  • Work closely with Trade Unions and support consultation processes, including TUPE

  • Contribute to organisational design and continuous improvement

About You

  • Proven experience in a generalist HR role, ideally as an HR Business Partner

  • Strong knowledge of employment law and HR best practice

  • Experience managing employee relations casework

  • Confident advising and influencing managers at all levels

  • Able to work independently and manage a varied workload

  • Professional, approachable, and solutions-focused

Qualifications

  • CIPD Level 7 (or equivalent experience)

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar HR role

  • ‘A’ Level education or equivalent
