Account Manager

We’re seeking an Account Manager who can seamlessly blend exceptional client relationship skills with strong technical understanding. This role is more than traditional account management, it’s about being the trusted bridge between our client’s customers and technical teams, ensuring smooth operations, effective problem-solving, and the delivery of outstanding service for both maintenance contract clients and new project work.

You will thrive in this role if you can translate technical requirements into practical solutions, resolve issues proactively, and spot opportunities to enhance our client's systems and experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

Client Relationship & Service Excellence

  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients.

  • Understand each client’s technical systems, operational needs, and challenges.

  • Conduct regular site visits and client review meetings.

  • Ensure contract renewals, account retention, and customer satisfaction targets are met. Technical Support & Problem Solving

  • Provide tailored solutions in collaboration with engineers and technical designers.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve product-related issues efficiently.

  • Coordinate with internal teams and subcontractors to deliver solutions on time and to standard.

Account & Contract Management

  • Oversee all aspects of client accounts from onboarding to ongoing service delivery.

  • Manage order processing, invoicing, and contract administration in line with company procedures.

  • Track account performance and follow up to ensure client satisfaction. Business Growth & Collaboration

  • Proactively identify upselling and cross-selling opportunities.

  • Partner with the sales team to align service offerings with client needs.

Documentation & Quality Assurance

  • Prepare and maintain accurate documentation for clients, engineers, and subcontractors.

  • Maintain all administrative records as required by individual contracts/sites.

  • Ensure quality control processes are followed and improvements are implemented where needed.

  • Monitor service quality and performance against agreed SLAs and KPIs.

  • Gather client feedback and implement service enhancements.

Project Coordination

  • Work alongside the Project Management Team to oversee installations, upgrades, and maintenance work.

  • Ensure smooth coordination of resources, schedules, and deliverables for projects linked to your accounts.

Skills & Experience

Essential:

  • Proven experience in account management, maintenance contracts, or technical customer service.

  • Strong technical understanding of maintenance or engineering-related systems (mechanical, electrical, or related).

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.

  • Ability to interpret technical information and present it clearly to clients.

  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Desirable:

  • Experience in project coordination or contract management.

  • Familiarity with health and safety regulations in technical/maintenance environments

  • Competence with CRM, ERP, and MS Office tools

Additional Information

  • Job Type:  Permanent / Full Time.

  • Salary:  £30K – £34K Per Annum (depending on experience).

  • Location:  Tiverton, Devon.
