• Job Type: Full-time, Temporary

• Location: Exeter, Devon

• Pay: From £13.05 per hour

• Shifts: Sunday – Wednesday: 05:00 – 13:00 & Thursday: 05:00 – 12:30

We are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Sweeper Driver to support essential street cleansing services, helping to maintain a clean and safe environment across the city.

This is a hands-on role requiring both driving and operational duties, working independently and as part of a wider team.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate a mechanical road sweeper safely and efficiently

• Remove litter and empty public bins as required

• Carry out street cleansing duties including: Small graffiti removal, Weed control and fly-post removal, Cleaning public toilets and car parks where needed

• Conduct basic inspections and report maintenance issues

• Identify and report additional work for specialist teams (e.g. tree work, hedge cutting, deep cleaning)

• Report issues affecting public areas such as: Fly tipping, Damaged street furniture, Abandoned vehicles or illegal land use

• Complete daily records such as timesheets and inspection logs

• Follow all health & safety procedures at all times

About You

• Full UK driving licence with C1 entitlement

• Valid CPC qualification

• Ability to work early morning shifts

• Flexible approach to duties and working patterns

• Good awareness of health & safety practices

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Additional Information:

• Full training provided across multiple service areas

• Work may include car parks, city centre routes, and deep cleaning operations
