Working Pattern: Rota basis, including every third Saturday

About the Role
We are currently recruiting for a Cleaner to join the Leisure and Museums Service in Exeter.
You will be responsible for maintaining a very high standard of cleanliness across museum buildings and facilities, helping to provide a welcoming, safe and enjoyable environment for visitors and museum staff.
This is a varied cleaning role involving general cleaning, toilets, offices, galleries and public areas, as well as occasional deep cleaning and assisting with the movement of furniture and equipment.
An ASAP start is available.
Key Responsibilities
Follow daily and weekly cleaning schedules.
Clean floors using appropriate cleaning equipment and machinery.
Clean toilets and public facilities.
Vacuum carpets throughout the museum and associated premises.
Clean the outside of display cases.
Clean and polish brass where required.
Clean offices and staff areas.
Assist with gallery high-level and deep cleaning when required.
Empty bins and dispose of waste appropriately.
Monitor and report stock levels of cleaning materials and equipment.
Keep cleaning stores and equipment areas clean, tidy and safe.
Assist with moving furniture, museum equipment and other items when required.
Work alongside other members of the cleaning team.
Attend relevant training as required.
Organise your own workload and cleaning supplies effectively.
Carry out other reasonable duties appropriate to the role.

Essential
Previous experience in an internal cleaning role.
Good understanding of safe working practices.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Reliable, organised and able to manage your own workload.
Enthusiastic, flexible and energetic approach to work.
Good attention to detail and pride in maintaining high standards.
Willingness to follow instructions and respond positively to direction.
Ability to work flexibly when required.
Physically capable of moving cleaning equipment, furniture and other items.
Willingness to undertake training in the use of cleaning machinery and equipment.
Desirable
Formal cleaning qualification or evidence of relevant cleaning training.
Knowledge of COSHH requirements.
Experience using floor buffers, cleaning machines or similar equipment.
Previous experience working in a museum, public building or similar environment.
Experience undertaking high-level or deep cleaning.
Ability to work safely using ladders.
Working Pattern
20.5 hours per week on a rota basis
The role includes working every third Saturday.
Some flexibility with working hours may occasionally be required to meet operational needs.
