Course Overview

Be Prepared to Respond to Paediatric Emergencies

Would you know what to do if a baby or child in your care needed first aid?

The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Statutory Framework requires all early years providers in England to have at least one person on the premises who holds a current and valid paediatric first aid certificate and is available whenever children are present. Depending on the number of children, staff and the layout of the premises, additional qualified first aiders may also be required.

The Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid (RQF) has been specifically designed to meet the requirements of the Department for Education's EYFS Framework. This practical qualification provides learners with the knowledge, confidence and skills to respond effectively to a wide range of paediatric first aid emergencies involving infants and children.

Successful candidates will understand the roles and responsibilities of a paediatric first aider and gain the practical skills needed to provide safe, prompt and effective first aid in emergency situations.
