Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm (37 hours per week)
About the Role
Our client is looking for a proactive and customer-focused HR Administration Officer to join the Human Resources Support Services (HRSS) team on a 12-month fixed term contract.
This is a key role in delivering a high-quality, efficient and customer-centred HR service to employees across the business. You will support a wide range of HR administrative activities, ensuring compliance with employment legislation, GDPR, business policies, and best practice standards.
Main Responsibilities
Provide HR advice, guidance and administrative support across a range of HR services, including policies, absence management, recruitment and general employee queries
Support HR processes such as recruitment administration, DBS checks, work permits, onboarding and absence systems (including maternity, paternity, sickness and annual leave)
Assist with Employee Relations administration, including notetaking, documentation and supporting managers with basic processes such as return-to-work meetings
Help maintain and improve HR systems, templates and processes in collaboration with HR and systems teams
Support the production of HR reports, metrics and workforce data
Ensure accurate record keeping and contribute to internal audits and compliance checks
Provide excellent customer service to managers, employees and external stakeholders
Participate in continuous improvement and ongoing professional development
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
Experienced in HR administration or a similar administrative role (ideally within a unionised/public sector environment)
Highly organised with strong attention to detail
Confident using Microsoft Office and HR systems
Able to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
A strong communicator with a professional, customer-focused approach
Able to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and discretion
Proactive, adaptable and committed to continuous improvement
Essential Requirements
5 GCSEs (A–C) including English and Maths or equivalent experience
Minimum 1 year experience in HR or a similar administrative role
Strong IT skills and experience handling HR or workforce data
