Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm (37 hours per week)

Recruitment Unlimited are recruiting on behalf of our client, for an experienced Housing Officer to join their Landlord Services Team on a 6-month temporary contract.

This is an excellent opportunity for a housing professional with experience in tenancy management, anti-social behaviour case management and estate inspections to support the delivery of high-quality housing services to Council tenants and residents.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a designated area of Council housing and temporary accommodation.

  • Build and maintain positive, proactive relationships with tenants and residents.

  • Carry out regular property inspections, tenancy visits and quarterly estate inspections.

  • Identify and report repairs, maintenance issues and tenancy breaches.

  • Manage and resolve anti-social behaviour (ASB) cases effectively.

  • Review flexible tenancies and provide advice on future housing options.

  • Ensure tenants understand and comply with tenancy agreements, including permissions, successions and assignments.

  • Encourage resident involvement and participation in housing services.

  • Handle customer complaints and resolve issues at the first point of contact where possible.

  • Work closely with external agencies including Police, Social Services, Housing Associations and other stakeholders.

Essential Experience & Skills

The successful candidate will have:

  • A qualification to HNC level in a relevant discipline or substantial proven relevant housing management experience.

  • Experience managing anti-social behaviour (ASB) cases.

  • Knowledge and understanding of housing legislation, landlord and tenant law and tenancy management practices.

  • Knowledge and experience using Open Housing systems (desirable).

  • Strong communication, negotiation and listening skills.

  • The ability to manage difficult conversations and deal confidently with challenging situations.

  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage a busy caseload.

  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office packages.

  • A positive, proactive “can-do” attitude with strong customer service skills.

  • A good understanding of equality, diversity and inclusion within housing services.
