Develop the Skills to Respond to Cardiac Emergencies

The Level 3 Award in Adult Basic Life Support and Automated External Defibrillation (RQF) is designed for individuals who have a specific interest or responsibility at work, within voluntary groups or community activities, to provide basic life support (BLS) during emergency situations, including the safe use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).

This regulated and nationally recognised qualification provides learners with the practical skills and knowledge required to respond confidently to a cardiac emergency. The course content is based on the recommendations of the Resuscitation Council UK and guidance from leading experts in emergency medical care.

Successful learners will develop the practical competencies needed to provide effective adult basic life support and safely operate an AED when required.

  • Continually monitoring breathing while a casualty is in the recovery position
