We’re looking for a motivated Trainee Workshop Operative to join a busy and growing workshop in Willand. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a practical, hands-on background who is eager to build a long-term career in vehicle fabrication, repair, and maintenance.

You don’t need years of experience – just a strong work ethic, a willingness to learn, and confidence using hand tools. Full training will be provided to help you develop into a skilled workshop technician.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Supporting the fabrication, repair, and maintenance of coaches and buses

• Using hand tools and workshop equipment safely and effectively

• Assisting with welding, cutting, grinding, and shaping metal components (training provided)

• Helping fit and install vehicle parts such as frames, panels, seating, and windows

• Carrying out basic mechanical and electrical support tasks under supervision

• Keeping the workshop clean, safe, and well-organised at all times

• Following all health & safety procedures and company standards

• Completing simple job records and paperwork accurately

• Working closely with experienced technicians to learn new skills and techniques

What We’re Looking For

• Some hands-on experience using hand tools (essential)

• Previous exposure to a workshop, manufacturing, construction, or engineering environment (desirable)

• Basic understanding of mechanical or electrical principles (advantageous)

• A genuine interest in learning fabrication, repair, and workshop skills

• A practical, reliable, and hard-working attitude

• Good attention to detail and pride in producing quality work

• Ability to follow instructions and work well as part of a team

• Positive attitude and strong willingness to develop and progress
