Field Service Engineer – Recycling Machinery

  • UK Wide Travel - 3-4 Nights Away Per Week

  • £45,000 - £50,000 + Door-to-Door Pay + (OTE £60,000+)

We are currently recruitment an experienced Field Service Engineer to join a well-established and growing specialist in recycling and waste-processing machinery.

This role is suited to an engineer who is comfortable travelling nation with (3-4 nights away per week) and wants strong earning potential, autonomy, and long-term job stability within a growing industry.

The ideal candidate must be based in Somerset or surrounding areas with easy access to central Somerset region.

The Role

You will be responsible for the installation, servicing, maintenance. and breakdown repair of industrial recycling equipment across customer sites throughout the UK.

Equipment Includes:

  • Balers

  • Compactors

  • Shredders

  • Conveyors

  • Separators

You will work independently or as part of a small team on customer sites, diagnosing mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults, carrying out repairs and refurbishments, and ensuring equipment operates safely and efficiently.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Service, maintain, and repair heavy industrial recycling machinery

  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults (motors, gearboxes, control panels, sensors)

  • Carry out installations and commissioning of ne equipment

  • Undertake machine refurbishments and rebuilds

  • Deliver professional on-site customer support and training

  • Complete accurate service documentation

  • Travel nationwide with regular overnight stays (Typically 3-4 per week)

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience as a Field Service Engineer, Mobile Engineer, Plant Fitter or Maintenance Engineer.

  • Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding ability

  • confident working with hydraulics

  • Experience with plant, agricultural, industrial or heavy machinery preferred

  • NVQ, apprenticeship of equivalent mechanical/electrical qualification.

  • Comfortable with nationwide travel

  • Full UK driving Licence.

  • £45,000 to £50,000 basic salary (experience dependent)

  • Overtime at 1.5x (weekdays & Saturdays) and 2x (Sundays)
