Public & Green Space Operative - Exeter, Devon

Location: Exeter, Devon
Pay: From £12.26 per hour
Type: Full-time, Temporary – Ongoing

Shifts:

• Start Times: Between 05:00 and 07:00

• End Times: Between 13:00 and 18:00

• Shift Patterns:

• Sunday to Thursday

• Tuesday to Saturday

• 5 out of 7 days (rotational, depending on cover needs)

Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated Public & Green Space Operator to join our client's team in Exeter. As part of this role, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of public spaces, ensuring they remain safe and inviting for residents and visitors alike.

Key Responsibilities:

• Remove litter and empty public litter bins

• Clean public toilets and car parks as required

• Remove small graffiti, fly posters, weeds, and overgrowth

• Conduct regular facility inspections and report maintenance issues promptly

• Identify and report larger reactive tasks such as grass or hedge cutting, sweeping, and tree work

• Report issues like fly-tipping, damaged public furniture/signs, abandoned vehicles, and illegal land use

• Adhere to safe working practices and client procedures consistently

• Flexibility to cover shifts as needed to support service demands

Skills & Requirements:

• Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions

• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment

• Reliable transportation to job locations

• Possession of a full, clean manual UK driving licence is essential

• Willingness to learn and apply safe equipment use and health & safety best practices

• New hires will receive comprehensive training across various job sections, including car park cleaning, toilet maintenance, solo sweeping in the City Centre, van routes, and deep cleaning.
